ARMENIAN POLITICIANS SAY TURKEY NOT A DEMOCRATIC COUNTRY
At a roundtable discussion on Friday, representatives of Armenian political parties talked about issues related to Turkey's bid to join EU, that country's relations with Europe as well as the Armenian -Turkish relations, Noyan Tapan reported. Members of the Armenian Republican Party, Democratic Party, Christian-Democratic Party, Armenian Revolutionary Federation and Orinats Yerkir agreed that Turkey is not yet a democratic country. Kiro Manoyan, Director of the ARF's Hay Dat and Political Affairs Office, said the EU should accept Turkey in the Union only after Turkey recognizes the Armenian Genocide. "Turkey must change. It should admit to its past and establish normal relations with Armenia," Manoyan noted.
