YOUTH CONFERENCE OPENS IN YEREVAN
A conference marking the 15th anniversary of the ARF's Nikol Aghbalian Student Union (NASU) opened in Yerevan on Monday.
Representatives from more than 25 youth and student organizations from Armenia and Diaspora are attending the conference titled "Armenian Youth and Prospects of Armenia's Development."
ARF Bureau member and National Assembly Vice-Speaker Vahan Hovhannisian, and National Assembly's ARF faction leader Levon Mkrtchian welcomed the conference delegates on behalf of the ARF Bureau and the Supreme Body of Armenia.
"This is a stage that allows to summarize what has been done by now and to outline the future actions," Levon Mkrtchian said. "I believe the youth movement has a bright future in this country, and regardless of their political beliefs it is capable to unite for the country's progress."
Both Levon Mkrtchian and Vahan Hovhannisian reminded that in the first years of its foundation NASU took active part in the Artsakh liberation war suffering losses. "Keep those who died in mind, they left the struggle for you to continue.
Your job will not be easy either, you are dealing with a government that has not yet established fully, and you have to shape it with your pressure. It is the youth that raise new fresh wave in the world." The conference will continue for two more days in Tsakhkadzor.
