YOUNG ARF MEMBERS RALLY AGAINST TURKEY'S EU BID
Armenian Revolutionary Federation's (ARF) Youth Organization called on the European Union on Monday to cancel EU accession talks with Turkey until that country admits to the Armenian Genocide ensures basic rights of its citizens and stops oppressing its ethnic minorities.
Over 250 members of the ARF Youth Organization rallied on Monday holding up posters reading, "Condemning is preventing," "Impunity causes new crimes," and "Turkey should look back to move forward." The protesters passed letters to the staffs of the UK embassy and EU mission in Yerevan.
Zinavor Meghrian of the Youth Organization said 9 people from the Middle East, Canada, United States and Iran joined in the protest demonstration. Also, the Republican Party of Armenia has voiced its support, Meghrian said, adding that 5,000 people are expected to stage a similar protest in Europe, to be organized by the Armenian European Federation.
