ARMENIAN FM SAYS AZERI LEADERS NOT REALISTIC
Speaking on Tuesday at a ceremony of decorating the Armenian servicemen on a peacekeeping mission in Iraq, Armenian defense minister said Armenia cannot stay away from the European family issues if it wishes to be a part of that family, Noyan Tapan reported.
Turning to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict, Serzh Sargsian said some of the Azerbaijani leaders seem to be "intoxicated" by the oil dollars and they "sing the old songs."
"The situation is the reminiscent of that in 90's when Azeri leaders said they could resolve the Karabakh conflict using military force, and in a short period of time conquer Karabakh as well as parts of Armenia," Sargsian said. "Those were illusions that disappeared during the war." In case of a new war, he added, Azeris would be again calling Armenia aggressor in 10-15 years.
